Cockerellites (Priscacara) liops

This is a well-preserved specimen of Cockerellites or Priscacara liops, from the Green River Formation. The fish was found in the famous 18”layer in a quarry near Kemmerer, WY. The fish measures 4.9 inches long, and 2.0 inches wide. The matrix, with the fish, measures 6.1 by 4.1 by 1.2 inches. The fish has been stabilized and color-enhanced. It has also been backed by a piece of wood to make it easier to hang or display free-standing.
