Metacanthina issoumourensis

This Devonian trilobite, Metacanthina issoumourensis, comes from Morocco- found in the Laghdad Formation in the Mhrach Taouz region. Metacanthina, is often labelled as Hollardops, but the two are separate and distinct.

The fossil measures 2.4 inches long (if flattened- it is in a 'flight' position) and 1.3 inches wide. The entire specimen (trilobite and matrix) measures 2.65 inches long, 3.0 inches wide and 2.0 inches high. Schizochroal lenses are present in both eyes.
